Imperium Romanum II Pictures

Here are some pictures from the last game of IR2. Scenario 29, The Scourge of God.

The entire map as we get ready to play.

The western half of the map after setup.

The central portion of the map after setup. Note the plundered countryside. Can civilization survive?

The eastern part of the map after setup.

The decrepit Western Roman Empire (451 A.D.) [Kevin]

The stalwart Eastern Roman Empire (Mike), preparing for a showdown against the mighty Huns (Bill) for the domination of the Balkans, and the future of civilization.

The Vandals (Roger)... who knows what treachery they are planning?

After a few battles along the frontier, Attila the Hun is ambushed at Colonia Agrippina by an able Aetius. Attila is crucified outside the city walls as a warning to other ambitious barbarians.

With the death of Attila, could the sun be rising on the Roman Empire once again?

The Huns in the east face off against the Eastern Empire.

The Visagoths (also Roger) have fended off and slaughtered the Suevi (Black units in Gallaecia, see ‘sun rising’ picture above). After subduing the province, they march toward the Franks (light tan).

The Eastern Empire marches north and lays siege to Tomi (which actually didn’t exist in this scenario, whoops!).

The Vandals have sailed, their destinations: Baleares and Cyrenaica.

The situation in the west as the game came to a quick close. Since Attila died so early in the game we decided to end it. Go Western Empire! :)

Here is the situation in the east as we ended the game.

All in all, it was a fun game and I had a good time.
